BEREA — Sophomore Anna Martin led the Polar Bears at the dish going 4-for-5 on the day as ONU swept Baldwin Wallace 5-0, 10-1 Wednesday afternoon at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Field.
Northern improves to 20-14 overall, 9-5 Ohio Athletic Conference, while Baldwin Wallace falls to 10-20, 3-11.
Senior Amanda Lahti and freshman Kylie Dickman led the Polar Bears in game two as the duo recorded back-to-back home runs.
In game one, Northern took the lead in the top of third inning as Martin led off the inning with a single.
Junior Megan Hupp followed it up with a single of her own placing runners in scoring position for freshman Kylie Asmus.
The freshman hit a 2 RBI single to right field plating the first two runs of the contest.
Lahti would close out the inning for the Polar Bears as she doubled to left center clearing the base paths.
Northern would plate the final run of the game in the top of the fifth inning as ONU capitalized on a BW miscue.
Lahti led ONU in the game recording a game-high three RBIs.
Martin led ONU in game two plating the first three runs of the contest as she tripled to right center, scoring freshman Laura Burden, sophomore Leanna Henry and Lahti.
In the top of the third inning, Lahti and Dickman took over as the duo recorded back-to-back home runs putting ONU on top 5-0.
The Polar Bears would secure the victory in the top of the fourth inning as they scored four more runs en route to the 10-1 victory.
Northern returns to action Saturday as they travel to Tiffin to take on Heidelberg.
