CLERMONT, Fla. — Freshman Kaitlin Surdej led the Ohio Northern softball team as they fell to Augustana (Ill.) 11-0 and defeated Johnson St. (Vt.) 9-1 Saturday afternoon at the National Training Facility in Clermont, Fla.
The Polar Bears move to 3-1 overall on the season.
Surdej took the circle in game two for the Polar Bears, earning her second victory of the season en route to the 9-1 victory.
Freshman Sara Florian recorded her first career hit in the contest, while junior Megan Hupp and sophomores Anna Martin and Jenna Hollar all collected stolen bases.
In game one, freshman Kylie Asmus took the loss for ONU surrendering 11 runs to Augustana, falling to 0-1 overall on the season.
Northern returns to action Sunday as they take on Neumann (Pa.) at 9 am, followed by Alma (Mich.) at 11 am.
