Three Polar Bears named Academic All-OAC in Softball

ADA — Three Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in softball for 2014-15.
Senior Taylor Manahan, junior Amanda Lahti, and sophomore Kirsten Burden.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point- average of at least 3.50.
Manahan appeared and started all 38 games this season at first base and was awarded All-Conference honors.
The mechanical engineering major ranked second on the team in doubles with eight and second in walks with 14.
She concludes her career as a Polar Bear with 44 hits, 21 RBIs, and a career batting average of .272.
Lahti, a social studies major, was second on the team in hits this season with 41, recording 12 doubles and 23 RBIs.
She owns a career batting average of .341 with 92 hits and 51 RBIs.
Burden appeared in 10 games making five starts this season on the mound.
The nursing major is 11-13 lifetime from the mound with 155.1 innings pitched.
The Polar Bears finished 24-14 overall, 12-6 OAC under second-year head coach Ali Hess.
