Kirsten Lightel, Jenna Hollar named All-Central Region in Softball by the NFCA

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Kirsten Lightel and Jenna Hollar were named All-Central Region in softball for 2015 in voting conducted by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Lightel was a Second Team selection and Hollar a Third Team honoree.
Lightel was also named Pitcher of the Year in the Ohio Athletic Conference, Rookie of the Year, First Team All-OAC, and was named to the OAC All-Tournament Team.
She led the OAC this season from the mound with a 1.55 ERA and 120 strikeouts. She led the team and was second in the OAC in wins with 17 and pitched a team leading 149.0 innings. The freshman is tenth all-time in school history in strikeouts and first all-time in ERA.
Hollar appeared in 37 games this season for the Polar Bears, was a Second Team All-OAC honoree and was named to the OAC All-Tournament Team.
She led the OAC this season in stolen bases with 27 and is currently second in ONU program history for stolen bases in a single season. The freshman led the team from the plate batting a .384 average with a team leading 43 hits.
The Polar Bears finished 24-14 overall and runner-up in the OAC Tournament under second-year head coach Ali Hess.
