CLERMONT, Fla. — The Ohio Northern softball team opened the 2015 season with a 9-1 win over Lyndon State (Vt.) Friday afternoon at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-0 on the season, while Lyndon St. falls to 3-7.
Junior Amanda Lahti went 2-3 with two doubles, one run scored and two RBI to lead ONU.
Ohio Northern capitalized on seven Lyndon St. errors in the bottom of the sixth to score four runs in route to the 9-1 victory.
Sophomore Paige Ordean (1-0) claimed her first pitching victory of the season for ONU.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday when they face Alma (Mich.) and Muhlenberg (Pa.).
