By Tim Glon
ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Paige Ordean was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 14-20.
Ordean fired her second career no-hitter in a 7-0 victory at league-leading Marietta on Friday.
She also pitched a complete-game victory at Baldwin Wallace on Thursday, leading the Polar Bears to a 3-1 week.
Ordean finished the week 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA.
This season, Ordean leads the squad with a 12-8 record, 54 strikeouts and a 4.81 ERA.
This marks the fourth time this season that an ONU player has received an OAC Player of the Week award, as junior Adriana Sikora (twice) and junior Jamie Westenkirchner have been named the OAC Hitter of the Week previously.
The Polar Bears are 17-16 overall and stand in third place in the OAC with a 10-6 mark this season under first-year head coach Ali Hess.
Northern will wrap up its regular season with three home double headers, hosting Anderson (Ind.) on Wednesday, OAC foe Capital on Saturday and Wittenberg on Monday.
