Men's Cross Country finishes fourth of 21 teams at Franklin (Ind.) Invitational

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team finished fourth of 21 teams on Saturday morning at the Franklin (Ind.) Invitational.

The Basics

• Record: Ohio Northern (20-3 Overall)
• Race Info: The event was an 8K race held at Blue River Park.
• ONU placed fourth of 21 collegiate varsity teams with 123 points.

Race Results

• The Polar Bears finished fourth out of twenty-one scoring teams.
• Trine (Ind.) placed first with 83 points, Rose Hulman (Ind.) was 2nd with 97 points and Case Western third with 111 points.

Top ONU Performers

• Fifth-year senior Ian Ackenhausen (Xenia/ Legacy Christain Academy) led the Polar Bears across the finish line in 26:00 to finish 13th of 325 runners.
• Junior Jacob Clouse (Alvada) was 19th in 26:07.25
• Senior Ryan Massie (Beavercreek)) was 5th in 26:07.56.
• Fifth-year Senior Jared Swartz (Alvada) finihsed 40th in 26:40.
• Senior Trent Babcock (Painesville) came 42nd in 26:44.

Notables

• The meet was held at Blue River Park, which is also the host of the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Nov. 16.
• 16th-year head coach Jason Maus is now 1,496-390 as head coach of the ONU men's cross country program and is the winningest coach in program history.
