ONU Race Notes: Ohio Northern enters Saturday's meet ranked No. 19 nationally in the latest USTFCCCA Poll on Oct. 19 ... Northern is gunning for its second consecutive OAC title and its fifth as a program overall ... ONU has won the OAC crown in 2015, 2011, 2008 and 2007 ... The meet will be held on the campus of Columbus State Community College in Delaware, Ohio and will be hosted by Capital ... The women will run a 6k race at 11 am, followed by the men's 8k race at Noon ... Ohio Northern boasts six returning All-OAC performers from last year's race on its squad this season ... Seniors Andrew Harden and Kase Schalois and junior Bobby Borger all earned First Team All-OAC honors with top-9 finishes and senior Aaren Hemmelgarn, junior Matt Molinaro and sophomore Ian McVey were Second Team All-OAC honorees by finishing in places 10-18 in 2015 ... The Polar Bears were idle last week and are coming off an impressive 5th place finish at the 37-team Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational on Oct. 15 ... ONU defeated four ranked teams in the field that consisted of nine nationally ranked schools ... Schalois finished 38th of 551 runners in 25:51 and Harden finished 39th in 25:52 to lead then-No. 28-ranked Ohio Northern ... Eighth-year head coach Jason Maus is now the winningest coach in Ohio Northern men's cross country history ... Maus has guided the Polar Bears to a 792-161 record, surpassing the 765-348 mark set by Brian Cole from 1997-2007.
