Senior Andrew Harden leads No. 32-ranked Men's Cross country as it competes in Michigan St. Spartan Invitational

ADA — Senior Andrew Harden led the No. 32 ranked Ohio Northern men's cross country team as it competed at the Michigan St. Spartan Invitational Friday afternoon.
Northern improves to 8-0 overall.
The Polar Bears took first place in the Div. III standings as they defeated the Calvin (Mich.) JV squad 15-50.
As a team, Northern placed eighth of 38 teams in all divisions represented at the invitational.
Harden took first place in the DIII standings in 26:16, while sophomore Ian McVey finished second in 26:22 and senior Cully Gordon rounded out the top three in 26:23.
Seniors Kase Schalois and Aaren Hemmelgarn and juniors Bobby Borger and Matt Molinaro and also posted top-7 finishes for Northern.
Borgers was fourth in 26:33, Schalois was fifth in 26:43, Molinaro was sixth in 26:56 and Hemmelgarn was seventh in 27:12.
"Our men raced well in a very competitive field," said head coach Jason Maus. "A meet of this caliber will really prepare us for what the rest of the schedule holds."
The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 30 as they travel to Cedarville to compete in the All-Ohio Championships at 2 pm.
