Season Review: Men's Cross Country posts 134-9 record, wins OAC title in 2015

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team posted its 18th consecutive winning season with a 134-9 record and won its fourth Ohio Athletic Conference Championships title in 2015 under seventh-year head coach Jason Maus.
This marks the 11th consecutive season that ONU has finished in the top three teams at the OAC Championships meet.
Maus was named All-OAC Division III Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Northern had a school-record seven runners earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference recognition as top-18 finishers at the OAC Championships.
Senior Eric Wymer finished 9th overall in 25:32 at the OAC Championships and was named First Team All-OAC for his efforts.
Wymer was also named OAC Runner of the week for the week of September 8.
Junior Andrew Harden finished 4th in 25:22 at the OAC Championships and earned First Team All-OAC honors.
Junior Kase Schalois was also named First Team All-OAC after finishing 8th overall at the OAC Championships in 25:32.
Sophomore Bobby Borger earned his first All-OAC recognition after finishing 7th at the OAC Championships in 25:29 and being named First Team All-OAC.
Three Polar Bear runners were named Second Team All-OAC for their efforts at the OAC Championships.
Junior Aaren Hemmelgarn, sophomore Matt Molinaro, and freshman Ian McVey were all named Second Team All-OAC.
McVey's time of 25:41 at the OAC Championships broke the ONU freshman record time of 25:47 set by Paul Lewis in 2005.
Senior Michael Potter, juniors Cully Gordon, Andrew Kurtz, Evan Murtha and sophomore Michael Murray were named Academic All-OAC.
Six of the 20 fastest runners in ONU men's cross country history competed for the Polar Bears in 2015.
Gordon was also named OAC Runner of the week for the week of September 14.
The Polar Bears opened the season by winning the Bluffton Invitational and won four of its seven meets this season.
