Men's Cross Country opens season with perfect effort at Bluffton Invitational

BLUFFTON — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team opened its 2014 schedule by sweeping the Bluffton Invitational Friday night.
The Polar Bears (4-0) had runners finish in the top six spots to post a perfect team score of 15.
Sophomore Cully Gordon won the 82-man race in a new course record 19:25 for the 6,000-meter course.
Sophomore Aaren Hemmelgarn was second in 19:33, senior Nathan Rosenbaum was third in 19:37, sophomore Kase Schalois was fourth in 19:38, junior William Huddleston was fifth in 19:50 and junior Eric Wymer was sixth in 19:51.
Ohio Northern will return to action Friday, Sept. 5 at the Taylor (Ind.) Invitational.
