HANOVER (Ind.) — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team placed second out of 13 teams with 84 points at the Hanover Invitational Saturday morning.

The Polar Bears (13-1 overall) finished with 84 points. No. 1-ranked North Central (Ill.) won the team title with 19 points. Otterbein was third with 110 points, No. 23-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point was fourth with 124 points and No. 24-ranked Wabash (Ind.) was fifth with 126 points.

Senior Mark Berton and junior Nathan Rosenbaum led ONU across the finish line.

Berton was 14th out of 155 runners in 26:35 over the 8,000-meter course, while Rosenbaum was 15th in 26:38.

Senior Jeff Denny was 23rd in 27:16, freshman Cully Gordon was 25th in 27:27, senior Mathew Johnson was 26th in 27:27 and sophomore William Huddleston was 29th in 27:38.

North Central's John Crain won the race in 25:36.

The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 14 at the Vanderbilt Classic in Nashville.
