Digby, Coach Amidon receive Great Lakes Region special honors in Men's Indoor Track and Field by USTFCCCA
ADA — Senior All-American Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) and assistant coach Molly Amidon received Great Lakes Region awards for the in indoor track and field by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Digby was named the Great Lakes Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year and Amidon was named the Great Lakes Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year
Digby was honored in the shot put and the weight throw.
He is a three-time All-American in the shot put, having finished fourth indoors in 2023. He was also sixth outdoors in 2023 and seventh outdoors in 2022.
Digby is seeded first in the region and fifth nationally with a school record toss of 17.29 meters this season.
He also earned All-Region honors in the weight throw, as he is ranked fifth in the region and 23rd nationally with a best effort of 18.18 meters, which puts him second in ONU history.
Amidon, in her seventh year as assistant coach at Ohio Northern, coached the Polar Bear sprinters and hurdlers who account for 48 of the teams 97 points in finishing third at the OAC Indoor Championships in February.
Her athletes set school records in five events, with one individual and the 4x400 relay team qualifying for the national championships.
Five Polar Bears will return to action Friday-Saturday at the NCAA III Indoor Championships at Virginia Beach, Va.
