Two school records fall, another tied as Men's Indoor Track and Field finishes second at Wittenberg Invite

SPRINGFIELD — Senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and junior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa St Angela) each broke school records and freshman C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) tied a school record, leading the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team to a second-place finish at the Wittenberg Meet on Saturday.

Meet Results
- The Polar Bears finished second with 64.5 points in the 11-team meet.
- Cedarville was first with 73 points, Ohio Dominican was third with 36 points, and Centre (Ky.) was fourth with 26 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Myers won the 500m in 1:04.97, besting the previous school record by .58.
- Dean broke the school record in the 200, finishing in :22.02. He was also third in the 60 in a personal-best :06.98 and now ranks sixth all-time in ONU history in the event.
- Boothby was 2nd in the 60m dash, tieing the current school record of :06.94, and also finished 7th in the 200m, posting the 7th fastest time all-time at ONU in :22.50.
- Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) won the shot put with a toss of 16.98 meters and was second in the weight throw at 18.01 meters. Digby's weight throw is a personal best by almost a foot.
- Senior Tommy Vetrovsky (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) was third in the weight throw with a toss of 17.16 meters.
- Junior Isaac Schoen finished third in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:40.20.
- In the 500, freshman Grant Conn (Medina/Buckeye Senior), sophomore Ben Zimmerer (Liberty Township/Lakota West) and senior David Gross (Prospect/Pleasant Local) all posted personal bests to finish 3-4-5, respectively.
- Conn was third in 1:08.43, Zimmerer was fourth in 1:08.83 and Gross was fifth in 1:09.11.
- Senior Brandon Wise (Goshen, Ind./Concord) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 4.10 meters.
- Junior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) was fourth in the mile in 4:15.41, which moves him to sixth all-time at ONU in the event.
- Senior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding) ran indoor personal bests in both the 200m and 400m dashes of 22.16 and 50.28, respectively, to finish fifth in both events.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 18 events, 10 individual running events, six field events and two running relays.
- Myers broke the previous record of 1:05.55 set in 2009 by Joe Amstutz.
- Dean broke the record of :22.07, set in 2022 by his older brother, Nate.
- Nate Dean also had his record in the 60 tied by Boothby.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is now 651-155 at ONU for men's indoor track and field with a winning percentage of .808.
