Men’s Indoor Track and Field: Ohio Northern (32-3 Overall) hosts Polar Bear Qualifier

Meet Preview: The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team is hosting the two-day Polar Bear Qualifier meet on Friday and Saturday at the ONU Sports Center … Events begin at noon both days … The event will not be team scored … This is the last event participating student-athletes have to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships meet in Winston-Salem, N.C., on March 11-12 … Nationally, the top 20 individuals in each event and top 12 relay teams qualify for the Division III Championships … Sophomore Keegan Digby ranks 22nd in the shot put with a distance of 15.64 meters … Freshman Jordan Dean ranks 26th in the 400 meters with a time of :49.57 … Junior Hunter Kesler ranks 31st in the 200 meters with a time of :22.23 … The 4x400 relay team of Dean, Kesler and seniors Nate Dean and Sam Krabacher ranks 20th with a time of 3:20.68 … The Polar Bears are coming off the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet at Mount Union last Friday and Saturday … Northern placed third of 10 teams at the event, scoring 107 points … Digby won the conference title in the shot put with a distance of 15.48 meters … The 4x400 relay team of sophomores Trey Meyers, Tyler St. Onge and David Gross and freshman Ross Schlatter also won a conference championship, running a time of 3:28.91 … Other All-OAC honorees included Myers (500 meters), Krabacher (800 meters), Kesler (200 meters), Jordan Dean (400 meters, 200 meters), Nate Dean (60 meters) and senior Andrew Buderer (pole vault) … The 4x200 relay team of Jordan Dean, Nate Dean, Kesler and junior Ollie Jacobs also earned All-OAC honors after running a new school-record time of 1:29.07 … The top three finishers in each event earned All-OAC status.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 13th season as the head coach at ONU … He is the all-time winningest coach in program history with a 578-143 overall record, a .802 winning percentage.
