Krabacher, Dean, and Skaff lead #34 Men's Track and Field at the Flag City Open

FINDLAY — The No. 34-ranked Ohio Northern men's track and field team was led by first place finishes from sophomore Sam Krabacher (Hamilton/Badin), freshman Nate Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph), and junior Griffin Skaff (Canton, Mich./Salem) Saturday at the Flag City Open inside Malcolm Athletic Center.
No team scores were kept for the meet.
Krabacher won the 500 in 1:09.07, Dean tied for first in the 400 in a career-best :51.13, and Skaff won the 5000 in 16:27.72.
Sophomore Donovin Moran (Saint John, Ind/Hanover Central placed second in the 500 in a career-best 1:10.55.
In the 800, junior Andrew Shelton (Williamsville, N.Y./South) was second in an indoor-best 2:00.22.
ONU had three pole valuters in the top-5 with freshman Andrew Buderer (Oak Harbor) clearing a career-high 4.45 meters for second, freshman Luke Shellhaas (Greenville/Versailles) clearing 4.30 meters for fourth, and sophomore Donald Gaylord II (Ashtabula/Lakeside) clearing 4.00 meters for fifth.
Junior Kyle Neff finished third in the 1000 in career-best 2:39.54.
Sophomore Owen Lloyd (Colfax, Ind./Clinton Prairie) was fourth in the 60 hurdles in a season-best 8.57 seconds, freshman Dawson Paul (Maineville/Little Miami) placed fourth in 3000 in a career-best 9:15.59, and junior Noah McKee (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) bounded 11.82 meters for fourth in the triple jump.
The 4x400 relay grouping of sophomore Colin McCullough (Galion), senior Cody Benny (Wapakoneta), junior Zachary Vaughn (Niles/McKinley), and Moran finished fourth in 3:40.76.
Sophomore Matt Bradshaw (Cleveland/Norton) was fourth in the shot put with a career-long toss of 14.14 meters and fifth in the weight throw with a 15.59-meter throw.
"A lot of good things happened today," ONU head coach Jason Maus said. "We've got momentum rolling into OACs."
Ohio Northern will return to competition by hosting the OAC Championships Friday and Saturday at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.
