This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's track and field team will open their 2018 home schedule on Friday afternoon as they host the annual Polar Bear Invitational at Kerscher Stadium ... The meet will kick off at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon ... Day one of the meet will feature the men's and women's hammer throw and the men's and women's javelin ... The second day of the meet will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's high jump, discus and pole vault, and the men's long jump and shot put ... Running events will begin at noon on Saturday ... The Polar Bears enter the meet following an impressive performance the All-Ohio Championships in Delaware ... Senior Matt Molinaro posted the lone first place finish to lead Ohio Northern in the meet ... The senior won the 1,500-meter run by nearly three seconds, finishing first in an impressive 3:55.44 ... The senior currently owns the 16th fastest time in the event nationally ... Senior Alex Sibila added a solid second place finish in the high jump with a career-best leap of 6' 7.00"... His mark currently ranks 16th nationally in the event ... In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Samuel Boyd added a top-3 finish, finishing third in the event in 9:25.41 ... Boyd moves into 13th place nationally in the event.
