Molinaro wins 1,500-meter run, leads Men's Track and Field at 2018 All-Ohio Championships

DELAWARE — Senior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) posted the lone first place finish to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team as it competed at the All-Ohio Championships at Gauthier Track on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (24-14 overall) finished 10th of 19 teams with 36 points.
Molinaro won the 1,500-meter run by nearly three seconds, finishing first in an impressive 3:55.44. The senior currently owns the ninth fastest time in the event nationally.
Senior Alex Sibila (Zionsville, Ind.) added a solid second place finish in the high jump with a leap of 6' 7.00". His mark currently ranks 16th nationally in the event.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Samuel Boyd (Killbuck/West Holmes) added a top-3 finish, finishing third in the event in 9:25.41. Boyd moves into 12th place nationally in the event.
Northern will open the home portion of its 2018 outdoor schedule next Saturday on Apr. 21 as it hosts the annual Polar Bear Invitational at Kerscher Stadium.
