Men's Track & Field opens Outdoor season at non-scoring Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational

MARION, Ind. — The Ohio Northern men's track and field team opened its 2018 outdoor season on Friday afternoon at the 27th annual Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational at the IWU Track.
Athletes from 12 schools competed in the non-scoring meet.
Senior Samuel Boyd (Killbuck/West Holmes) won the 1,500-meter run in 4:06.22.
Senior Alex Sibila (Zionsville, Ind.) was second in the high jump, clearing 1.87 meters, and was sixth in the discus with a toss of 35.82 meters.
Freshmen Matt Bradshaw (Norton) and Jack Lehr (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) were second and fourth in the discus with throws of 40.95 and 39.19 meters, respectively.
Senior Luke Bogdanovich (Akron/Coventry) was third in the long jump with a leap of 6.32 meters, was sixth in the javelin with a toss of 46.42 meters and was sixth in the high jump by clearing 1.77 meters.
Senior NCAA Champion and 3-time All-American Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) was third in the 400 in :50.58.
Senior Brandon Emert (Brunswick) was fifth in the 400 hurdles in :58.01 and freshman Owen Lloyd (Colfax, Ind./Clinton Prairie) was fifth in the 110 hurdles in :15.78.
The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Jared Butcher (Mechanicsburg), freshman Gabe Dauch (Norwalk/St. Paul), Emert and freshman Harrio Joseph (Lake Worth, Fla./Sanatluces) were third in 3:33.53.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Friday at the Otterbein April Fools Invitational.
