Kase Schalois, Brandon Emert lead the Ohio Northern Men's Track & Field team at the North Central (Ill.) Gregory Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Sophomore Kase Schalois and freshman Brandon Emert led the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team at the non-scoring North Central (Ill.) Gregory Invitational Thursday and Friday at the Buikema Track.
The Polar Bears (57-5 overall) had 12 individuals place in the meet.
Emert set a new ONU freshman record in the 400-meter hurdles as he finished ninth with a new personal best of 54.19 seconds.
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Schalois set the ONU sophomore record finishing fourteenth in 9:21.40.
Sophomore Lucas Shumate finished fifth in the discus throw with a toss of 152'07" and sixth in the hammer throw setting a new personal best of 183'04".
In the 800-meter run, freshman Matt Molinaro finished fourth with a personal best of 1:52.25.
Sophomore Aaren Hemmelgarn also set a new personal record in the meet as he finished eighth in the 5,000-meter run in 14:50.06.
Also in the 5,000-meter run, senior Nathan Rosenbaum finished sixteenth with a time of 15:19.01.
In the high jump, senior Ryan Brancheau finished eighth with a height of 6'05.5" and freshman Alexander Sibila finished tenth with a new personal best of 6'05.5".
Senior Kyle Wagner finished ninth in the 1,500-meter run in 3:58.52.
The 4x400 meter relay team of senior Jonathan Roseler, freshman Conner Karg, senior James Rader, and Molinaro finished tenth in 3:22.36.
The Polar Bears are next in action May 21-23 as they travel to Canton, N.Y. for the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
