Men's Outdoor Track & Field finishes third at OAC Championships

BEREA -- Freshman Dan Arkin won the javelin to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track & field team to a third place finish at the OAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin Wallace.
Northern finished with 106 points.
Mount Union won the meet with 231 points, John Carroll was second with 131 points and ONU was third.
Arkin captured the javelin with a throw of 177-0.
Both ONU relays earned All-OAC honors on the day.
The 4x400-meter relay team of junior James Rader, junior Jonathan Roseler, sophomore Christian Rupe and freshman Patrick Jeffries finished second in 3:20.03.
The 4x100-meter relay team of senior Josh Colbert, sophomore Jojuan Fisher, Roseler and Rupe finished third in 41.87 seconds.
Colbert recorded a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash in 10.88 seconds, Roseler was seventh in 400-meter dash in 50.35 seconds and Jeffries was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.17 seconds.
Junior Nate Rosenbaum earned All-OAC honors in the 5,000-meter run with a third place finish in 15:18.64 and freshman Aaren Hemmelgarn was fifth in 15:22.96.
In triple jump, junior Ryan Brancheau finished fourth and sophomore Robbie Brinkman finished fifth, with leaps of 12.79 meters (41-11.50) and 12.72 meters (41-8.75), respectively.
Brinkman was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.70 seconds and Brancheau finished seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.83 meters (6-0.00).
Freshman Kase Schalois finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and freshman Adam Berry was sixth in 9:49.90 and 9:50.86, respectively.
Sophomore Eric Wymer was seventh in the 1,500-meter run in 4:03.29.
The Polar Bears will compete again on May 8 and May 9, when it takes part in the Dr. Keeler Invite at North Central (Ill.) College.
