Men's Indoor Track & Field wins Joe Banks Invitational

ADA -- The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team finished first out of ten teams at the Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
Polar Bears finished with 198.50 points, Rose Hulman (Ind.) was second with 139.50 points and Otterbein was third with 75 points.
Senior Josh Colbert won the long jump with a distance of 6.99 meters, beating his own meet record.
ONU Men's 4x200 Meter Relay team consisting of freshman William Reckert, freshman Matthew Hommer, junior James Rader and senior Francisque Pierre-Jerome finished first in 1:32.44.
In the 3,000-meter run, senior Mark Berton finished first in 8:53.18 and senior Mathew Johnson placed second in 8:58.32.
Junior Jonathan Roseler led the way in the 400-meter dash, finishing first in 49.97 seconds, with sophomore Christian Rupe taking second in 51.23 second and freshman Patrick Jeffries finishing fourth in 51.57.
The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of senior Evan McKee, Jeffries, Reckert and Roseler won in 3:25.67.
Colbert finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.11, Pierre-Jerome came in third in 7.14 and sophomore Jojuan Fisher took fifth in 7.17.
Junior Ryan Brancheau tied for second on the high jump with a height of 1.94 meters and McKee came in second in the 500-meter run in 1:07.18.
Junior Nate Rosenbaum finished second in the 1-mile run in 4:28.56 and freshman Kase Schalois was in fourth in 4:30.55.
In the 800-meter run, junior Kyle Wagner finished second in 2:00.99, freshman Ian McKee grabbed fourth in 2:02.19 and junior Dan Steigerwald placed fifth in 2:02.97.
Roseler was second in the 200-meter dash in 22.72 seconds, Rupe was third in 22.73 seconds and Jefferies placed fifth in 23.13.
Sophomore Robbie Brinkman took third in the 60-meter hurdles posting a time of 8.70 and sophomore Brandon Ike tied for fourth in the pole vault, clearing 4.12 meters.
Sophomore Eric Wymer in the 1000-meter run in 2:38.75, while freshman Andrew Kurtz earned a fifth place finish in the 5,000-meter run in 16:50.97.
Ohio Northern will return to competition on February 15 at the All Ohio Championships at noon.
