Men's Track & Field represent ONU at Miami and OWU Invitationals

OXFORD/DELAWARE – The Polar Bear men's track & field team split up to compete at two different invitationals this weekend.
Seniors Dan Smith and Joe Gutter represented ONU at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational on Friday. Smith finished fifth in the 5,000 in 14:52.85, while Gutter finished 10th in the hammer throw at 171-9.
Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan's Marv Frye Invitational, Ben Ankrom, Michael Simmons and Kyle Weslosky all earned first-place finishes to account for Northern's 30 team points.
Ankrom finished first in the 1,500 run in 3:59.44, Simmons took first in the steeplechase in 9:35.06 and Weslosky took first in the javelin at 154-10.
Other finishes included Kyle Wagner finishing ninth in the 800 run (2:00.60). Tenth place finishes went to Jacob Schwab in the 200 dash (22.68) and Jacob Rettig in the 5,000 (15:53.04).
ONU competes again at the All-Ohio Championships at OWU next Saturday.
