Men's Track & Field competes at the All-American Invite at Adrian (Mich.)
ADRIAN, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's track & field team competed at the unscored All-American Invitational, hosted by Adrian College (Mich.) Saturday afternoon.
The event included several NCAA Division III and NAIA teams from Ohio and Michigan.
Northern notched three first place finishes, including junior Jacob Schwab (Willard/Monroeville) taking the 400-meter run in 48.86. Senior Garrett Brown (Atwater/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) earned first in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.82. He also took as second place finish in the 400 hurdles in 55.25.
Junior Dan Smith (Avon) earned a top finish in the 800-meter run in 1:55.52, followed by Ben Ankrom (Circleville) in 1:56.16.
Other second place finishes included senior Ryan Fleming (Maitland, Fla./Lyman) in the 200-meter dash in 22.39. Fleming also notched a third place finish in the 100-meter dash in 10.58, just a mere 0.01 second off the ONU school record.
Junior Nick Swinford (Loveland/Kings) finished second in the 10,000-meter run in 33:56.66, while freshman Mark Berton (Findlay/Fostoria St. Wendelin) finished in the steeplechase in 9:48.10.
Freshman Francisque Pierre-Jerome (Lauderhill, Fla./South Plantation) took third in the 200-meter dash in 22.59.
The Polar Bears continue their season at Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware next Saturday at the All-Ohio Meet, starting at 11 a.m.
