Hope, Weyrauch and Bowsher compete for Outdoor Track & Field at NCAA Division III Championships
BEREA - Nicole Hope, Jacob Weyrauch and Alan Bowsher all competed at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday at George Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace.
All three of the Ohio Northern track & field athletes competed in the finals on Thursday.
Hope finished 13th in the women's pole vault by clearing 11-10.75. She cleared the first bar at 11-5 in one attempt, she cleared her final height in two attempts and she failed to clear 12-2 in order to continue in the competition.
Hope also competed at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships earlier in the year at DePauw (Ind.), finishing 11th.
In his first appearance at the NCAA Championships, Jacob Weyrauch was unable to clear the starting height at 15-6 in his three events.
Bowsher competed in Thursday's nightcap, the men's 10,000-meter run. He finished the run in 32:28.93 and crossed the finish line in 13th-place in his first national appearance.
North Central (Ill.) is leading the men's competition after Day 1 with 41 points, while Wisconsin-Oshkosh is atop the women's standings with 21 points.
