Men's Indoor Track & Field athletes better their season-bests at Wisconsin-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet
STEVENS POINT, Wisc. - Several men's indoor track & field athletes posted season-best marks in their respective events Saturday at the Wisconson-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet.
The meet was a non-scoring event.
Junior Ryan Fleming tied his season-best time in the 55-meter dash in the preliminary race in a time of 6.54. He then bettered that time in the finals, running the race in 6.52 and finishing fourth.
Sophomore Dan Smith bettered his time in the mile run by nearly five seconds. Smith finished second in 4:14.52, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying time.
Junior Joe Gutter had a mark of 48-6.25 in the weight throw. His previous season-best was 46-4.25.
Juniors Garret Brown, Shane Huntley and Evan Heyman and sophomore Jacob Schwab finished eighth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:22.77.
The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for next Friday and Saturday at DePauw (Ind.)
