Isenberg's third-place finish at Baldwin-Wallace non-scoring meet leads Men's Indoor Track & Field
BEREA - Junior Travis Isenberg finished third in the 1,000-meter run at the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-February Meet Friday evening to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track & field team at the non-scoring event.
Isenberg finished the race in a season-high 2:38.81, while fellow junior Patrick Rachow placed seventh in the race in 2:43.24.
Junior Shane Huntley and senior Mike Johnson finished back-to-back in the 500-meter run, as Huntley was fourth in 1:08.54 and Johnson was fifth in a season-best 1:08.73.
Sophomore Nick Baker and senior Nick Edmonds also turned in fourth-place finishes for the Polar Bears. Baker finished the mile run in 4:29.93, and Edmonds finished the 5,000-meter run in 15:48.57.
Joining Edmonds in the 5,000-meter run was freshman Kenton Holliday, who finished the race in eighth place in a season-best 15:58.81.
Freshman Jacob Eby was another Northern athlete who ran a season best on Friday evening.
Eby finished fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.41. He qualified faster in the preliminary heat in a season-low 8.40.
Senior thrower Tony Thomas picked up a pair of seventh-place finishes on the evening. In the shot put, Thomas had a mark of 43-03.25.
He had another very solid effort in the weight throw with a season-best distance of 43-1. His previous season-best mark was 39-7.75.
Sophomore Jarrod Stevens also had a seventh-place finish, jumping 38-11.50 in the triple jump.
The Polar Bears will be in action on Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein.
