Several Polar Bears have good showing at Outdoor Track & Field Toledo Tune-Up
TOLEDO - Seventeen Ohio Northern Track & Field men's and women's team members took another chance to post solid performances at the Toledo Tune-Up meet at the University of Toledo Friday afternoon.
The meet was a non-scored event.
For the men, junior Garrett Brown and senior Jacob Weyrauch both had first-place finishes, while the women were led senior Brittany Farber placed fourth in the 800-meter run in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:14.22.
The time is also the best of her career.
Brown took the 400-meter hurdles in 56.09, while Weyrauch won the pole vault with a height of 14-9.
Junior Shane Huntley placed third in the 400-meter dash in 49.99, while fellow junior Ryan Fleming also placed third in the 100-meter dash in 11.09.
Top performances in the field events came from juniors Joe Gutter and Tim Polack. Gutter placed sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 162, while Polack finished seventh in the javelin throw with a distance of 145-4.
Junior Travis Isenberg and freshman Matt Bayman each placed in the 5,000-meter run. Isenberg placed seventh and Bayman eighth with times of 16:20.89 and 16:23.78.
Sophomore Ashley Sottoway finished sixth in the 400-hurdles in 1:07.77.
Junior Aubrie Stechschulte led the way with a second-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 11-3.75.
Rounding out top-eight performances for the women was junior Amanda Binkey, who placed seventh in the 1,500-meter run in 4:54.74.
Both teams will compete again next Thursday at the North Central Invitational in Naperville, Ill.
