Bio

Bob Rohan is in his ninth season as head men’s tennis coach at Ohio Northern University.

He is also in his 13th season as an associate head football coach at Ohio Northern.

Rohan is also an instructor in ONU’s human performance and sport science department.

Rohan is making his second stint as men's tennis coach, after serving as an interim head coach for the final 14 matches of the 2005 season.

In his nine seasons, Rohan has captured three OAC regular season and OAC Tournament titles. The Polar Bears have also made an appearance in the NCAA III Tournament three times, picking up a victory each time.

Rohan has a career record of 117-58 (.669) with an impressive 61-17 (.782) mark in OAC action.

On March 29, 2014, Rohan became the second coach in program history to reach 100 victories. His 117 victories are currently second most in ONU men's tennis history.

He was named the OAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2013.

Rohan, who has 25 years of coaching experience and is coaching the quarterbacks at ONU, also had assistant coaching stints at Ashland from 2000-02, Clarion (Pa.) from 1997-99, Frostburg State (Md.) from 1993-96, Catholic (D.C.) in 1992, Maryland in 1991 and at Bishop McNamara H.S. from 1987-90.

He received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Maryland in 1992 and his master’s degree from Frostburg State in health and physical education in 1996.

Rohan played safety at Salisbury State (Md.) in 1985 and helped his squad to the regional finals that year.

As a freshman, he played quarterback for Shepherd (W.Va.) in 1983.

Rohan and his wife, Amy, have six children; Sarah, 21, Daniel, 19, Greg, 16, Matthew, 15, and twins Anna and Rachel, who are 11-years old.
