Top-seeded Men's Tennis wins third consecutive OAC Tournament title with 5-2 victory over John Carroll

LIMA — The top-seeded Ohio Northern men's tennis team won its third consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament title with a 5-2 victory over John Carroll in the Finals on Saturday afternoon.
The title is the 13th title overall for the Polar Bears.
ONU receives the OAC's automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament.

Match Highlights
- Senior Drew Swisher (Findlay) and freshman Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles to even the match at 1-1.
- Junior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and freshman Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles to give ONU a 2-1 lead heading into singles lead.
- The victory was also the 100th career win for Specht, making him a mamber of ONU's 100-Win Club.
- After the Blue Streaks won on court 1 to tie the match at 2-2, Wood won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 singles to make it 3-2 Polar Bears.
- Senior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles to extend the lead to 4-2.
- Specht ended the match with win No. 101 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles.

- The Polar Bears won their third consecutive OAC Regular Season title and its 12th overall to earn the No. 1 seed in this week's OAC Tournament.
- Northern has now swept the OAC Regular Season and Tournament titles three consecutive seasons for the first time in school history.
