Men's Tennis sweeps Baldwin Wallace to remain atop the OAC standings

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team remained undefeated in league play and ran its winning streak to six matches with a 9-0 victory over Balldwin Wallace on a beautiful Friday afternoon at the West Campus Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 18-4 overall and are 4-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 10-4, 1-2.
Northern swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead.
Senior Vinh Thai (Galloway/St.Charles) and junior Matt Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South) won 8-0 at No. 1, senior Andrew Cochran (Wooster) and freshman Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) won 8-1 at No. 2 and senior Zach Beaschler (Ada) and sophomore Drew Swisher (Findlay) won 8-5 at No. 3.
Freshman Sam Sran (PB, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and freshman Tristan Munteanu (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon) won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles to put ONU ahead 5-0 and clinch the match.
Specht won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles, Cochran won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Beaschler won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles and Thai won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles to complete the sweep.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday at 1 pm when they host Mount Union on Senior Day at the West Campus Courts.
ONU will honor its seniors Beaschler, Cochran and Thai in a pre-match ceremony at approximately 12:30 pm.
