Men’s Tennis maintains perfect spring break trip with 7-2 win over Wabash (Ind.)

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team remained unbeaten on its spring break trip with a 7-2 victory over Wabash (Ind.) on Wednesday at Shipyard Racquet Club.

The Polar Bears are 5-0 on their current trip and 11-3 overall, while Wabash falls to 4-5 overall.

Seniors Andrew Cochran (Wooster) and Zach Beaschler (Ada) and freshman Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) all went 2-0 on the day for ONU.

Cochran won at No. 2 singles and teamed with Specht, who won at No. 4 singles, to win at No. 2 doubles.

Beaschler won at No. 6 singles and teamed with freshman Drew Swisher (Findlay) to win at No. 3 doubles.

Freshmen Tristan Munteanu (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon) and Sam Sran (PB, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) also scored victories for ONU, winning at No. 3 singles and No. 5 singles, respectively.

Wabash opened play with an early 1-0 lead after the first doubles court, but ONU took a 2-1 edge into singles play and won five of those six courts to secure the match victory over the Little Giants.

The Polar Bears return to action on Thursday to face Gettysburg (Pa.) at Hilton Head Resort at 3:30 p.m.
