Men's Tennis competes at ITA Central Regional Tournament at Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team competed at the ITA Division III Central Regional Championships Friday and Saturday.
In singles play, junior Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) lost to Wooster's Nathan Devereux 6-4, 6-1 in his first match and fell to Thomas Partridge of DePauw (Ind.) 6-0, 6-2 in the consiolation round.
Sophomore Noah Elliott dropped a 6-3, 7-5 decision to DePauw's Noah Roberts in his first match and fell to Luis Andres Platas of Kenyon 6-4, 6-1 in the consolation round.
The freshmen doubles team of Matt Garcia (Dowber's Grove, Ill./South) and Gian Perusini (Rome, Italy/Millfield) went 0-2 on the weekend, falling 8-2 in both matches.
The pair lost to Denison's Jacob Dennen and Vlad Rotnov in their first match and to Landon Carrico and Pablo Gallart of Hanover (Ind.) in the consolation bracket.
The Polar Bears will return to action Feb. 16 at Transylvania (Ky.)
