Hoang Do wins at No. 4 singles, No. 2 doubles to lead Men's Tennis in 5-4 loss at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE — Sophomore Hoang Do (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) won at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team in a 5-4 non-conference loss at Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon at the Luttinger Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 5-6 on the season, while the Battling Bishops improve to 13-8.
Do and freshman Zach Beaschler (Ada) won 8-7(3) at No. 2 doubles to get ONU within 2-1 after doubles play.
OWU then got singles wins at Nos. 6 and 3 to extend its lead to 4-1 before Do won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4 singles to make it 5-2.
The Bishops put the match away with a win at No. 5 singles, but Northern battled to the end as freshman Noah Elliott (Hilliard/Davidson) and sophomore Vinh Thai (Hilliard/Davidson) wrapped up the match with a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 2 and a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 1, respectively.
The Polar Bears will begin Ohio Athletic Conference action on Saturday with a 1 pm match at Mount Union.
