Men's Tennis drops 5-2 decision to Spring Arbor (Mich.)

LIMA - The Ohio Northern men's tennis program dropped a 5-2 decision to NAIA foe Spring Arbor (Mich.) Saturday evening at the Westwood Tennis Center in Lima.
With the loss, the Polar Bears move to 4-5 overall on the season. Meanwhile, the Cougars improve to 13-5 in the 2018-19 campaign.
The Cougars jumped out to an early 2-1 advantage after doubles play, claiming the No. 1 and No. 3 courts with 8-5 and 8-2 wins, respectively. Meanwhile, sophomore Hoang Do (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and freshman Zach Beaschler (Ada) claimed the remaining court for Ohio Northern with an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action, freshman Andrew Cochran (Wooster) picked up the lone victory for the Polar Bears, notching a 6-1, 4-6, 10-8 victory at No. 5 singles to even the team score at 2-2.
However, Spring Arbor went on to sweep the No. 2-4 courts, capturing the 5-2 win Saturday evening.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Sunday, March 24 with a home dual against NAIA foe St. Francis (Ind.). Match time is set for 12 p.m. noon.
