HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- The Ohio Northern men's tennis team fell to Wilkes (Pa.) 6-3 at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Center on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears (2-3 overall) got two wins from freshman Noah Elliott (Hilliard/Davidson) in the loss, while the Colonels improve to 2-1.

Elliott won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and junior Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia) celebrated his birthday with a gutty 6-1, 7-6(6) victory at No. 6 singles.

Northern also got a win at No. 2 doubles by Elliott and sophomore Hoang Do (Powell/Olentangy Liberty).

The Polar Bears will return to action on Thursday on its spring break trip with a 12:30 pm match against Bridgewater (Va.) at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Center.
