Men's Tennis falls 9-0 at #34 Oberlin

OBERLIN - The Ohio Northern men's tennis program dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 34-ranked Oberlin Sunday afternoon at the John W. Heisman Field House.
With the loss, the Polar Bears fall to 1-2 overall on the season. Meanwhile, the Yeomen earn their first win this season, improving to 1-5 overall.
Freshman Andrew Cochran (Wooster) and sophomore Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) topped the individual performances on the road. Cochran won a team-high 10 games in a 6-4, 7-6 loss to Oberlin's Sam Topper at No. 5 singles while Thai fell 6-3, 6-3 to Stephen Gruppuso at No. 1 singles.
In doubles action, sophomore Hoang Do (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and freshman Noah Elliott (Hilliard/Davidson) led the way with an 8-4 loss at the No. 2 slot.
The Polar Bears will return to action with their annual Spring Break trip. This season, they will play five matches against Randolph (Va.), Wilkes (Pa.), Bridgewater (Va.), Eastern Nazarene (Mass.), and Roanoke (Va.) in Hilton Head, S.C. between March 3 and March 8.
