This Weekend's Tournament: The Polar Bears are the No. 3 seed in this week's OAC Tournament and will face second-seeded Mount Union in the semifinals on Friday ... Top-seeded John Carroll and fourth-seeded Baldwin Wallace will battle in the other semifinal on Friday ... Both semifinal matches are slated to begin no earlier than 2 pm, weather permitting ... The league has secured two indoor courts in case of inclement weather - the Queen City Racquet Club in Cincinnati and the South Regency Racquet Club in Miamisburg ... A new, 6-team format for the OAC Tournament was introduced this season with the top two seeds receiving byes into the semifinals ... Saturday finals have a 2 pm start time ... Northern has won 10 OAC Tournament titles, most recently in 2013 ... ONU has crowns in 2013, 11, 10, 08, 07, 03, 1998, 96, 95 and 91 ... The Polar Bears' last six OAC Tournament titles have come under the current team tournament format adopted by the OAC in 2002 ... Ohio Northern advanced to the semifinals with a tight 5-3 victory over sixth-seeded Capital in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at University Courts in Ada ... Junior Jake Abbott and sophomore Connor Christian got ONU rolling with an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles ... Christian then posted a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 come-from-behind win at No. 3 singles to give Ohio Northern a 4-2 lead ... Abbott then closed out the match with a 7-6(3), 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles, giving the Polar Bears a 5-3 victory ... Thus far this season, freshmen Hoang Do (13-8) and Vinh Thai (13-9) lead ONU with 13 singles wins each ... Thai has a 10-9 mark at No. 1 singles and Do is 11-6 at No. 2 singles ... Sophomore Connor Christian leads the squad with a 17-8 doubles record, with Do and Thai right behind with 16-9 doubles records ... Do (29-17) and Thai (29-18) each have 29 overall records.
