Men's Tennis wins second straight with 6-3 victory over Baldwin Wallace

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team posted its second straight victory and grinded out a 6-3 victory over Ohio Athletic Conference-foe Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday afternoon at the University Courts.
The Polar Bears move to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 9-4, 0-3.
Junior Tim Kargl (Downers Grove, Ill. / South) and freshman Hoang Do (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) each posted a pair of victories in the contest to lead ONU.
Northern got off to a solid start, sweeping the doubles courts to take an early 3-0 lead.
Freshman Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) teamed up with Do to post an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia Academy) and junior Jake Abbott (Kenton) also posted an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Kargl and sophomore Andrew Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South) would finish the sweep at No. 2 doubles, posting an 8-6 victory.
Kargl made quick work at No. 4 singles, posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory, before Do was able to post a hard-fought 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.
At No. 6 singles, senior Cody Hurley (Centerville) finished the match on a high note, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 to help lift ONU to the 6-3 victory.
Northern will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they return home and welcome John Carroll to the University Courts for a 1 p.m. matchup.
