Men's Tennis opens up OAC Tennis Fest with 9-0 victory over Ohio Christian

MASON — The Ohio Northern tennis team got back to its winning ways with a 9-0 victory over Ohio Christian on the first day of the OAC Tennis Fest Friday evening at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 8-7, while the Trailblazers fall to 1-6.
Freshman Tyler Frantz (Bellefontaine) led Ohio Northern with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles and an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles with junior Cody Hurley (Centerville).
Sophomore Tim Kargl (Downers Grove, Ill./South) and freshman Andrew Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South) won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles and sophomore David Hayman (Westerville/South) and freshman Jake Abbott (Kenton) won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles as ONU swept the doubles matches.
Northern also swept the singles matches.
Hayman, Abbott and sophomore Lance Brown (Dayton/Stebbins) won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 2, 4 and 6 singles, respectively.
Kargl won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Garcia won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
The Polar Bears will wrap up the OAC Tennis Fest on Saturday with Ohio Athletic Conference matches with Muskingum at 9 am and Marietta at 5 pm.
