Kargl wins twice, but Men's tennis edged by Otterbein 5-4

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team fell to Otterbein 5-4 Tuesday afternoon at the University Tennis Courts.
The Polar Bears are now 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Cardinals advance to 7-8 overall and 2-1 in OAC play.
Sophomore Tim Kargl (Downers Grove, Ill./South) led the Polar Bears, winning 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and combined with freshman Andrew Garcia (Downers Grove, Ill./South) to win 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Sophomore David Hayman (Westerville/South) and freshman Tyler Frantz (Bellfontaine) also won singles matches.
Hayman won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Frantz won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Otterbein won two of the three doubles courts to take an early lead.
The teams then split the six singles matches and Otterbein held on for the 5-4 win.
Ohio Northern returns to the University Courts on Saturday at 1 pm against Mount Union.
