ORLANDO, Fla. -- The John Mostowy-Sam Prewitt show continues to roll along, as the duo combined for the clinching win as the Ohio Northern men's tennis team edged King's (Pa.) 5-4 on Monday morning at the Star Island Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-3, while the Monarchs fall to 2-1.
The teams played singles first, and Ohio Northern grabbed a 4-2 lead.
Mostowy, a junior, won 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 1 single and Prewitt, a senior, won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Sophomore Alex Starr won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and sophomore Gary Hess won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6 singles to give the Polar Bears a 4-2 advantage.
Mostowy and Prewitt then clinched the match with an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles to improve to 4-0 on the season.
The Polar Bears will continue their Spring Break schedule on Tuesday at 8 am against Post (Conn.)
