Men's Tennis advances to OAC Tournament Semifinals with 5-2 win over John Carroll

STREETSBORO -- Junior Sam Prewitt won twice to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team past John Carroll by a 5-2 score in the OAC Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday evening.
The Polar Bears, seeded fifth in the tournament, improve to 12-5 on the season, while the fourth seeded Blue Streaks end their season at 9-10.
ONU will now take on top seed Otterbein at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason on Friday at 4:30 pm.
Prewitt won the clinching match for Northern at No. 5 singles, by a 6-3, 6-1 score.
He also teamed with senior Blake Troller for a 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Senior Josh Saunders and sophomore John Mostowy gave ONU a 2-1 edge after doubles play, with a 8-4 win at the No. 1 position.
Senior Do Thai made the score 3-1 in favor of the Polar Bears with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles.
Mostowy made it 4-2 ONU with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles and Prewitt closed out the match with his win.
The Polar Bears have won three of the past four OAC Tournament titles.
