By: Andrew Korba

MASON -- The top seeded Ohio Northern men's tennis team won its third OAC Tournament Championship in the last four years, topping No. 3-seed Otterbein 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

The Polar Bears are now 18-4 on the season, while the Cardinals fall to 16-7.

The win also gives Northern an automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament. The field will be announced on Monday evening.

"Our guys were excited to get on the courts today," said head coach Bob Rohan. "We were looking forward to playing. We played great all across the board."

Northern opened up play by taking all three doubles courts.

The tandem of sophomore Sam Prewitt and junior Blake Troller started things off with a 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Freshman John Mostowy and junior Josh Saunders expanded ONU's lead to 2-0 with a 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

Senior Joey Frank and junior Do Thai finished off the doubles sweep at No. 1 doubles with a 8-4 victory.

In singles play, Saunders won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Troller clinched the match at No. 5 singles, winning 6-2, 6-0.

"It was great to win today," Rohan added. "I am very proud of the way these guys and how they conducted themselves both on and off the court all weekend. I can't think of a better group of people to represent Ohio Northern."
