Andrew Korba joins 100-Win Club as Men's Tennis blanks Capital 9-0

BEXLEY -- Senior Andrew Korba became the 19th member of Ohio Northern's 100-Win Club, leading the ONU men's tennis team to a 9-0 victory at Capital Wednesday afternoon at the Capital Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-5 overall and are 7-1 in OAC play, while the Crusaders fall to 6-17, 2-5.
Ohio Northern also clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
Korba combined with sophomore Josh Saunders to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles for career win No. 99, then won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles to notch career win No. 100.
In his four seasons as a Polar Bear, Korba is 37-28 in singles play, is 63-17 in doubles play and is 100-45 overall.
His 63 doubles wins rank him seventh all-time at ONU.
Senior Michael Kathary and junior Joey Frank won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and senior Nick Kowalczyk and freshman Sam Prewett won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles as Northern took a quick 3-0 lead.
In singles play, Frank won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1, Kathary won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, Kowalczyk won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3, Saunders won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 and junior Mike King won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season on Saturday with a home match against Muskingum at 1 pm at University Courts as part of the team's Senior Day celebration.
