Men's Tennis competes at ITA Regionals in Saint Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Junior Joey Frank and senior Michael Kathary teamed up to make the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team at the ITA Central Region Championships this Friday-Sunday at Washington (Mo.)
The event was unscored.
Frank and Kathary knocked off fourth seed John Healey and Rohan Patel of Case Western Reserve in the second round and 13th seed Ankur Barghava and Troy Brinker of the University of Chicago by a 9-7 score in the round of 16 before falling in the quarterfinals.
Sophomore Do Thai picked up two tough wins in the singles main draw. In the first round, Thai defeated Tim Rosensteel of Kenyon by a 6-3, 7-6 (1) score and Nicolas Howe of Case Western Reserve by a 7-6 (3), 6-4 score.
Senior Nick Kowalczyk won the St. Louis Intercollegiate backdraw picking up a 7-5, 6-2 win in the final.
Senior Andrew Korba and sophomore Josh Saunders both were victorious in their first St. Louis Intercollegiate draw matches.
Frank also picked up two victories in the ITA singles back draw.
This tournament completed the fall portion of the season for the Polar Bears. Ohio Northern will be in action on their annual spring trip to Orlando in March.
