Men's Tennis improves to 3-0 in OAC action with 9-0 sweep at Marietta

MARIETTA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 9-0 victory at Marietta Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-2 overall, while the Pioneers fall to 2-6, 1-2 OAC.
Northern swept the three doubles matches by a combined 24-0 count to set the tone of the match early.
Sophomore Joey Frank and junior Nick Kowalczyk won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, junior Michael Kathary and freshman Do Thai won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and freshmen John Saunders and Blake Troller won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles for ONU.
In singles play, Thai, Kowalczyk and freshman Jeff Saunders posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at Nos. 3, 4, and 6 singles, respectively.
Frank won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Kathary won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Korba won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles to complete the sweep.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday with a home match against Heidelberg.
