Men's Tennis posts fifth consecutive shutout, blanks BW 9-0

BEREA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team posted its fifth consecutive shutout, defeating Baldwin-Wallace 9-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-2 overall and are 5-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 17-3, 3-2.
Sophomore Michael Kathary led Ohio Northern, winning 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Kathary also combined with freshman Do Thai to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Thai then posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.
Sophomore Joey Frank won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, junior Nick Kowalczyk won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 singles and the duo combined to win at No. 1 doubles 8-6.
Freshman Josh Saunders also had a solid outing with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles.
Senior Jeff Carter also won twice, coming from behind to win 2-6, 7-5, 10-6 at No. 6 singles and combining with junior Andrew Korba to win 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
The Polar Bears will return to action Tuesday at Otterbein.
