Men's Tennis extends win streak to 10 and stays perfect in OAC with 8-1 win over Otterbein

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team stayed hot Wednesday afternoon, winning their tenth match in a row with an 8-1 victory over Otterbein at the University Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while Otterbein falls to 3-16, 3-4. The winning streak is the team's longest since 2006.
Northern began the match by taking all three doubles courts.
The tandem of sophomore Nick Kowalczyk and freshman Joey Frank defeated Tyler Brodhead and Ryan Cantanese 8-5 at first doubles.
Junior Jeff Carter and sophomore Andrew Korba grabbed their team leading 15th doubles victory of the season with an 8-2 win at second doubles.
Sophomore Matt Dutro and freshman Mike King also won 8-2 at third doubles.
In singles play, the Bears got a 6-2, 6-0 victory from Carter at third singles, a 6-4, 6-0 win at fourth singles from Korba and a 6-1,6-1 victory from junior Kyle Barnaba at fifth singles.
Kowalczyk won a tough match at first singles by a score of 7-6(3), 6-4 over Brodhead.
King rounded out the scoring with a 6-1, 6-0 over Robi Simms at sixth singles.
Ohio Northern will look to extend their winning streak on Friday when they travel to John Carroll for a 3:30 pm match.
