Men's Tennis stays unbeaten in OAC action, extends win streak to 13 with 9-0 victory over Muskingum

NEW CONCORD – The Ohio Northern men's tennis team remained undefeated in Ohio Athletic Conference action this season as it won 9-0 at Muskingum Thursday afternoon.
The Polar Bears better their record to 15-2 overall and 8-0 within the conference while the Muskies move to 6-10 overall and 2-6 in the OAC.
The win is Ohio Northern's 13th in a row.
Sophomore Nick Kowalczyk stays undefeated in conference action this season and stands at 16-0 overall with a pair of wins on Thursday.
Kowalczyk defeated Adrian Matthews in No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2 and team up with freshman Joey Frank in No. 1 doubles for an 8-4 victory against Mathews and Malcolm Reed.
In the No. 1 singles match, Frank defeated Reed 6-0, 6-0.
In No. 2 doubles, the duo of Jeff Carter and sophomore Andrew Korba defeated Daniel Gomez Merino and Kyle Vallejo 8-1 to move to 8-0 in OAC doubles matches this season.
Carter won his No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0 against Merino while Korba defeated Dale De Fluiter 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 singles match.
Sophomore Matt Dutro and freshman Mike King defeated De Fluiter and Hunter Huffman 8-0 in No. 3 doubles action.
King moved to 5-0 this season in conference singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Seth Holdsworth.
In No. 5 singles action, junior Kyle Barnaba won 6-2, 7-5 over Vallejo.
Frank, Carter, Korba and Barnaba all move to 7-1 in conference singles matches this season.
With the outright OAC regular season championship on the line, the Polar Bears finish the regular season Saturday at home at they host undefeated Mount Union at 1 pm at University Courts.
